Microsoft Outlook

Use this tutorial to set up Outlook for your email. Contact lists from Outlook are compatible with the bigfootranch.com web-mail system.

To set up your mail account follow these few easy steps.

1. Go to the Tools menu and click on E-mail Accounts.

2. Select Add a new e-mail account, click next.

3. Select POP3, click next.

4. Enter the information as it appears in this picture, but use your own name and password.

5. You can test the settings by clicking the "Test Account Settings" Button. A common problem is that you will need to change the "outgoing mail server" (SMTP) to whatever internet provider you are connected to. This is a result of security set on bigfootranch.com that prevents outgoing e-mail from being bounced off our servers.

7. By clicking the "More Settings" button you will be able to input additional information like the name of this account and a different reply to address if you desire.

8. By clicking Next you are finished!

Organizing Accounts and Mail: If you have more then one account in Outlook all your mail will appear in the "Inbox" folder. You can use the "Organize" tool to file incoming mail into different folders as it arrives. You can see an example of this in the picture of step one.

Managing Your Address Books: If you already have a contacts list in Outlook you can export it from Outlook and import it into your "internet" address book using the CSV format. You can also do the opposite if you have an address book you would like to import into Outlook from your "internet" address book. Just click on Addresses when you log into your web-mail, go the the bottom and you'll see the option to do all of this.
